Award-winning art from past Drawing/Watercolor: Illinois biennial exhibitions go on view starting May 29 at the Tarble Arts Center, Eastern Illinois University. Also exhibited are four suites of original prints. All of the art is from the Tarble Arts Center’s permanent collection. The exhibitions continue through August 15.
The twenty-four artworks from the biennial exhibitions span four decades. Included are watercolors by noted Illinois painters Ed Shay, Donald K. Lake, Walter Sorge, and Jeffrey Little. The drawings feature works by Dwain Naragon, Jodi Bowen, and Sarah Capps.
A generous donation to the Danville Library Foundation from Dr. Angelo and Mrs. Alberta Anaclerio is making it possible for vision-challenged readers to check out magnifiers that are stronger than what is commonly found in stores. Eleven Danville citizens participated in a Magnifier Clinic presented at the Library on Monday, May 17th. Pam Troxel, Low Vision Coordinator from Chittick Family Eye Care discussed the importance of good light, regular eye exams, and keeping the eyes active. This was the Library’s fourth Magnifier Clinic and several returning participants were re-evaluated to make sure they were working with the proper magnifier strength. New participants were tested and appropriate magnifiers are on order to fill their need.
Magnifiers may be checked out just like a book from the library. For more information contact the Danville Public Library’s Outreach Services Department at 217-422-5227.
Mission:
Our mission is to promote life-long learning for the students. Champaign
District Unit 4 will provide leadership and support for the development,

The Danville Library Foundation hopes that honoring mothers by contributing to the Foundation will become an annual Mother’s Day tradition for area residents. The library staff and foundation members understand the great influence mothers have in fostering a love of reading the lives of their children.
