What is unique about your library?
|
I believe that we have
one of
the smallest libraries (in square feet). We used to house the historical
society’s newspaper collection, but it has since been put on microfiche.
We
have really tried to update the library to the community’s needs. We
have gone
online with LTLS and added computers for library use. |
What are the primary goals and objectives of your library? |
We, of course, want to continue to meet the needs and wants of our patrons, but our main goal right now is expansion. The library needs more space for collection growth and programming. |
What cooperative efforts are you currently doing? |
|
|
Tell us a story about your library. |
When Bethe Lynn
joined our
board, the previous director asked her to start a new book club. Bethe’s
book
club started about 5 years ago and is still going strong. |
If money were no object, what services would you add? |
|
|
What is popular in your library? |
Fiction is very popular
with
the best sellers being in the highest demand. DVD’s and movies are also
very
popular. Many people come into the library to use the computer. |
How does your library use online tools to connect to your users? |
We have a
library website
where patrons can find out what is going on in the library, as well as
in the
area. We have a link to LINC so that our patrons can search the catalog
and
make requests from home. |
