Participants will keep track of the number of minutes they read in 10-minute increments. Children ages 3 through graduated 4th grade will receive prizes as they move through the map towards the dragon. There will be a grand prize for each of the 3 programs award to one participant at the end of the respective programs.
Tuesday, June 7th there will be a drop-in craft time 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Children can drop in anytime before 11 a.m. to work on the week's craft.
Friday, June 10th, there will be a special program at 1:30 p.m. presented by Living historian Deane Geiken. He presents the life and times of a English Longbowman, circa 1350. Mr. Geiken will show the training methods, daily life experiences, and a closer look at the weapons and equipment used by soldiers of the Hundred Years War, 1337-1453.
Saturday, June 11th at 1 p.m., local author of "Licking the Bowl", Diane Rigdon, will host a book talk. She wrote this cookbook based on recipes developed by her parents. Mrs. Rigdon is donating all proceeds from the sale of the cookbooks to the Mills Breast Cancer Institute in Urbana. The library staff was fortunate enough to get to taste-test some of Mrs. Rigdon's recipes when she was working on the cookbook.
