The Orland Park Public Library is a seeking a creative, motivated and team-oriented professional to assist in creating, developing and implementing outreach services to local schools. This full-time position allows the applicant the opportunity to work in a large facility with experienced and dedicated staff providing excellent reference and innovative programming to patrons. Responsibilities include serving as the representative of the library at school and community activities, serving as school contact person, promoting the public library to educators and students and providing reference, reader’s advisory service and programming to children and teens. Applicant must demonstrate enthusiastic commitment to youth services, have a comprehensive knowledge of library service to children and teens, and a vast knowledge of children’s and teen literature.
Qualifications
• A Master’s Degree in Library Science from an accredited school.
• Minimum one year public or school library experience.
• Must be willing to work evenings and weekends
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet the library’s policy for driving on library business
Starting Salary: $32,550 plus benefits
