The Alliance Library System (ALS) seeks a Mid-Illinois Talking Book Center Director to develop, plan, promote, administer, and evaluate the operation of the sub-regional Talking Book Center.
Responsibilities include the ability to
- Plan, direct, and supervise all activities for management of library service for the blind, visually impaired, physically handicapped and learning disabled residents of the Talking Book Center service area.
- Develop, manage, control, and evaluate the Talking Book Center's annual budget and plan of service; prepare monthly, quarterly, annual or other reports as required by the Illinois State Library and the Alliance Library System, plus other reports and surveys as required by the National Library Service.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with the Alliance Library System, its members, Illinois Talking Book Centers, and National Agencies; serve as a member of the Management Team.
Other duties as assigned.

The Alliance Library System (ALS) seeks a Resource Sharing Alliance (RSA) Reports Coordinator to assist RSA members with first-line technical support for library automation system issues, running reports and building reports.
Responsibilities include the ability to:
• Serve as the primary contact for creating and running reports for member libraries.
• Create and modify appropriate databases/spreadsheets for statistical and other library reports.
• Serve as the primary contact for library inventory procedures and reports.
• Troubleshoot RSA related software issues.
• Assist with member library operational troubleshooting.
• Serve as the primary contact and liaison for RSA Union Listing libraries.
• Enter and update a variety of routine data in LLSAP parameters.
• Serve as the primary Union Listings Library trainer and point of contact.

PrairieCat, a shared integrated library automation consortium for northern Illinois and eastern Iowa, seeks an energetic leader to serve as Manager. The Manager will be responsible for the overall management and development of the consortium.
PrairieCat, formed in 2007, is operated by the Prairie Area Library System (PALS). PrairieCat serves the online electronic catalog needs of 186 member libraries. Members include 103 public libraries, 10 college libraries, 64 school districts, and 9 special libraries, spanning a 10,000 square-mile region in northern Illinois and eastern Iowa.
Member libraries fund most of the costs associated with the service. The Manager of PrairieCat, reporting directly to the PALS Executive Director, is advised by a 12 member administrative council with representatives from member libraries. Reporting to the Manager will be a team-oriented, full time equivalent staff of 10.
