In the second year of the SirsiDynix Building Better Communities Awards program, we are expanding eligibility to international libraries and increasing the number of awards.
After an enthusiastic response last year with 130 nominations, we have increased the number of recipients to six client library organizations. These recipients will receive US$10,000 each, based on creativity and accomplishments in serving their communities.
Through this awards program, SirsiDynix seeks to recognize library organizations that create better places to live, work, and learn, while encouraging libraries everywhere to follow the examples of these outstanding institutions.
Which libraries are eligible? This year any SirsiDynix library – from anywhere in the world – whose technology leadership has distinguished it in service to its user communities is eligible.
Who can make a nomination? Anyone can nominate any eligible library. And yes, you can nominate your own library. In fact, you may be in the best position to know what your own library has done to build a better community. So make your nomination now.
How do I make a nomination? To make a nomination or for more details, go to: http://www.sirsidynix.com/awards. It’s an easy process with such great potential rewards!
How will selections be made and recipients announced? Selections will be made for the Building Better Communities Awards by an independent panel of library leaders from around the world. Recipients will be announced at the ALA Annual Conference in Washington, D.C., this June.
When is the deadline for nominations? Please make your nominations by Monday, April 16, 2007.
