Horizon Workstation Specifications Updated

SirsiDynix has posted new workstation requirements for Horizon 8.0 and these have been posted on the LTLS Technology web site. Although Horizon 8.0 is not the current Horizon software used by the LINC libraries, these specifications are useful for planning purposes. If your library is planning to upgrade staff workstations in the future, these specifications should be considered for purchase. However, remember that the current version of Horizon, v. 7.3.4, can only run on PC's.

SirsiDynix sponsors Building Better Communities Awards

SirsiDynix seeks to reward the most forward-thinking libraries who are using new technologies to become indispensable to their communities and build new relationships. This award is open to any SirsiDynix library worldwide whose technology leadership has distinguished it in service to its user communities. Six library organizations will each receive US$10,000 as the reward. Recipients will be announced at the ALA Annual Conference in June 2007. Applications are available at the SirsiDynix 'Building Better Communities' Award site. The deadline is Friday, April 16, 2007

Orphan Materials List

Be sure to check the LTLS orphan materials web site on an ongoing basis. We continue to receive items at the LTLS Cataloging Center with no property stamp, and those items become orphans. Check this site to see if any of your unreturned items are there. The first category of materials gives the libraries who purchased the items a chance to claim them. The second category is for all LINC members, and the final category is for any LTLS member. Just complete the form found at the bottom of each page and they will be processed and sent to you!
