Library Thing now ready for prime time

We've now added Library Thing's social networking content to the main LINCPac. Do a search in LINCPAC for this book title: Bridge of Sighs. When viewing the full record, on the left sidebar, you will see additional information provided by Library Thing (Similar Titles and Tags). Try other searches and let us know what you think by sending an email to Pat Boze, pboze@lincolntrail.info.

Library Thing is a collaborative, social networking site where over 270,000 users input reviews and 'tag' items with their own subject headings. Library Thing is able to match ISBN's in our LINC catalog (62%) and provide additional content such as 'similar titles', 'other editions', and 'subject tags'.

WorldCat Local launched for 4 LTLS locations

As of October 15, the WorldCat Local interface is now being tested in four LTLS libraries. WorldCat Local incorporates a locally-branded search box, local and consortial shelf-status data, the ability to place requests locally and through OCLC ILL, and integration of a link resolver product, Openly Informatics, to provide access to full-text articles.

Cataloging Center canvas bags needed

The Cataloging Center is running seriously short of the blue-bottomed bags we use for receipt and return of your Cataloging materials. Far fewer bags are coming back than have recently been sent out. Please return all extra bags as soon as possible. Each library buildings should only have 1 Cataloging Center bag at a time.

MyMediaMall Training - October 29

Another session of Digital Library 101 online training for MyMediaMall has been scheduled for Monday, October 29 at 9 a.m. Training is conducted using the ReadyTalk service, which uses online web sharing and telephone conferencing so you don't need to leave your library.
