CODI Conference Update

On Thursday, the CODI Conference keynote speaker was Roy Tennant, OCLC.  During Tennant's presentation on the Library Software Manifesto, he said there is plenty of blame to go around for what has happened in the current library automation marketplace.  He emphasized that while library customers have the right to know what the development plan is and its timeline, library vendors have the right to have a manageable, prioritized list of enhancements.  Even more importantly, both libraries and vendors have a shared resopnsibility to put the needs of the library users ahead of their own needs.
