Patrick Sommers Steps Down as SirsiDynix Chief Executive Officer

SirsiDynix announced Friday that Chief Executive Officer Patrick Sommers is resigning from the company, effective immediately. The search for a new chief executive officer will begin immediately.

“Pat has done a marvelous job of leading and growing SirsiDynix,” said Martin Taylor, operating principal of Vista Equity Partners, which acquired the company in January. “Under his tenure, SirsiDynix has become the world leader in the integrated library system market.”

Taylor said he will partner closely with the SirsiDynix management team to ensure a smooth transition. Sommers joined the company in 2001 when it was still known as Sirsi. During his six years as chief executive officer, he led the company through key mergers and acquisitions of DRA, Docutek and Dynix, which have resulted in the creation of SirsiDynix. "As a result, SirsiDynix is strong, financially healthy and devoted to providing world-classtechnology and customer service to our market,” Taylor said.
