MyMediaMall Download Station offer

Are you interested in having a download station in your library for MyMediaMall? Overdrive, the MyMediaMall vendor, has announced a price cut for an in-library download station license. With this license, any public PC can become a self-service station for downloading audio books and music in the library. Patrons can bring their MP3/WMA player to the library and transfer the files immediately. One license is $2,500, with $250 for each additional PC workstation license. Lake Land College now using Horizon acquisitions

Congratulations to Lake Land College! Lake Land has begun to utilize the Acquisitions Module of Horizon. This allows them to create all UPPER case acquisitions records, as needed, and attach a holding to the bibliographic record with a generic barcode. If you are a non-acquisitions library, you should not attach a holding (barcode) to any UPPER case bibliographic records. Please wait to attach until a full-MARC record is in Horizon.

All automated libraries are able to utilize the Acquisitions Module of Horizon. The primary purpose of this module is to allow your patrons to see what you have "on order" and to place a hold on that record. Survey of Library Automation released

Marshall Breeding has released Perceptions 2007: An International Survey of Library Automation. More than 1,700 international respondents completed the survey through a self-selection process in the fall of 2007. The last half of the article focuses on customer ratings of various ILS vendors and their products.
