MyMediaMall and NSLS

We've had some questions from libraries about the continuation of MyMediaMall, a service which is purchased by the LINC libraries from North Suburban Library System.  As some of you may have heard, NSLS is in a difficult financial situation and has eliminated all services but delivery.  However, we've received word that MyMediaMall will continue to be supported by an organization called Innovation Experts (formerly Library Partnership Trust) which offers consortial purchases of electronic databases as well as MyMediaMall. 

WorldCat Quick Start statistics now available

Because each LINC library building has a free WorldCat Quick Start account, we are now posting statistics that indicate usage of those accounts.  The monthly use of each account is now posted on the LTLS Technology web site and will be updated monthly as we receive new data.  When reporting search statistics for your library, this data is in addition to searches that happen on your LINCPac account.

If you have not begun using your WorldCat Quick Start account, please click here to find out what your library's url is for that account.  This account can be used to search both LINC library holdings and locate materials that are not owned by the LINC libraries. WorldCat Quick Start includes access to physical items owned by libraries but also includes results for online materials contained in the FirstSearch databases and digitized content. If your library subscribes to WilsonSelect, these materials are also included in search results.

Provide access to your library's WorldCat Quick Start account by linking to it from the library's web site, make it the browser 'home page' on a library computer, or include information about WorldCat Quick Start in bibliographic instruction information.
