LINC Update

Collection Code Count - 2010

We've posted the July 2010 listing of all collection codes, with a count of all items assigned to each collection codes.  The list is sorted alphabetically by agency code and is available here. This count is a 'snapshot' count, and was done on July 12, 2010.

Please review the list and notify Helen Neal, hneal@lincolntrail.info, if you have 'unused' collection codes that you would like us to delete.  This count will remain on the web site and will be updated again next July. 

Mobile Catalog (Beta Test)

LTLS is partnering with Library Thing to beta test their Mobile Catalog application, called LibraryAnywhere. Mobile devices can be used to search the LINC Horizon catalog at this web site: http://www.librarything.com/libraryanywhere

The LibraryAnywhere application lets libraries showcase both the catalog, hours, and events that are happening at the library.  Mobile users can select a library depending on where their mobile device is physically located or users can search for their favorite library by state/city.  Users can search the catalog and renew items.

In order for us to set this up for interested libraries, we need a library logo and connection information for any RSS event feed you may have on your library web site.  If you have a particular logo and/or an event RSS feed, please email that information to Pat Boze, pboze@lincolntrail.info.  If you do not have a logo or an event RSS feed, we will set up each library's account with default information.

Goose Creek Township Library (DeLand) begins adding holdings to LINC

On July 29, Goose Creek Township Library staff (DeLand) received training on adding holdings to LINC, beginning the process of adding the library's holdings to the shared LINC catalog.  Library staff hope to have the library online with LINC within a year.
