LINC Update

LTLS Closed November 11

In response to the FY2011 budget issues, LTLS will close on observed holidays for FY2011.  On Veterans Day, November 11, the office will be closed.  

LINC libraries may use an emergency phone, 1-217-979-1182, to report an emergency problem.  An emergency problem is defined as a completely unavailable product, such as Horizon, LINCPac, or SIP. 

Mobile Catalog now available

As a result of partnering with Library Thing to test their Mobile Catalog application (LibraryAnywhere), LTLS has negotiated a great deal for a 14 month subscription to this product, for all LINC libraries.  Library Thing has released a press release with more information about the LibraryAnywhere product here.  LINC staff have configured each LINC library's location information (hours, street location, logo, rss event feed if available) and the mobile catalog product is now available for searching at these sites:

You may include a link to these sites on your library web page.  We will also be adding a universal verison link (works with all versions of phones) to LINCPac by November 15.  

With no previous publicity about this service, LINC has had over 3500 searches through the mobile catalog interface for the month of October.  We will post data as the use of this new interface grows throughout the coming months.  Please send questions about this new service to Pat Boze, pboze@lincolntrail.info.
