Local Holds at Urbana Free LIbrary

Urbana Free Library will soon begin using Local Holds for new items. For most books and for CDs, DVDs, and BODs, the new Local Holds Period is defined as 5 months plus the current month.  For best sellers and for easy/easy-to-read books the new Local Holds Period will be 9 months plus the current month (reduced from 1 year).  These changes will occur sometime within the next few weeks as the lists are compiled and items are moved to the new itypes.

LTLS libraries invited to LCLS GateNet meeting

As part of the process of merging the southern automation system groups, Lewis & Clark Library System has invited other southern system members to attend a meeting in Edwardsville. This will be a special GateNet Users Forum meeting and will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2011, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Lewis & Clark Library System, 6725 Goshen Road, Edwardsville. 

Along with a regular business meeting, we are happy to have two special guests: Anne Craig, Director, Illinois State Library, and Greg McCormick, Fiscal Officer, Illinois State Library.  Anne and Greg will discuss the relationship of LLSAPs (local library system automation projects) and library Systems in Illinois.
