LINC Update

LINC Information on IHLS Web Site

We've created access to the LINC automation information page through the IHLS Web Site.  We continue to maintain the LINC automation page, with various online forms, documents, statistics, FAQs, online status information as in the past, but it is now linkable through IHLS site>Automation>LINC. 

MyMediaMall circulation by library

We've posted FY2011 MyMediaMall yearly circulation statistics for each LINC library's borrowers. The FY2011 data is reported here.

 

Music and Video Titles Cover Art added to LINCPAC

We've worked with Syndetics (the vendor for cover art, table of contents, and reviews) to add cover art for video and music titles to LINCPac as well.  You will see more displayed cover art when searching for dvd's, videos, films, sound recordings, etc.  Here is a description of this new content from Syndetics:

Video & Music Content include cover images and annotations. The video category represents not only new releases on DVDs and Blu-ray, but also educational videos, documentaries, and how-to films. This may include paragraph-length annotations for videos identifying cast members and directors. Music annotations include track listings, song running time, and composer/performer.

The match to connect the cover art to the correct title is being accomplished through either ISBN or UPC codes that are found in the MARC record.  This additional service is being provided at no additional cost for LINC libraries.

LINC Training Added

I have added two series of LINC training to the IHLS - Champaign Office calendar.  Costs remain the same.

LINC - Adding Items, Thurs., August 11, 2011, 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

September Series:

Pricing remains the same:  Individual classes are $40 a piece.  Take all 4 classes in the series for $120.
