LINC Update

Large Type Book Titles in LINC

To help distinguish large print from regular and larger print book titles in title browse searches, LINC Cataloging Center staff have placed the general material designation "[text (large print)]" after the titles of more recently published large print books.  We think this will help users who are searching for large print editions of books find then more quickly. 

We plan as time permits to use global change software to place this designation in the bib records of all of our large print titles. 

Finding Larger Type Books in LINC

As you know, many romance publishers issue some of their series in both regular and larger print versions. The LINC Cataloging Center has placed a number of enhancements in larger print bib records to help users and librarians distinguish larger print from regular print editions. The major enhancements are:

1.  Local subject heading: Larger type books.

2.  Addition of the phrase "Larger print" to series statements.

3.  Addition of the following edition statement to each record: "Larger print ed."

We hope these features will help you and your patrons to search and find larger print editions with relative ease.
