Target Store Grants

Applications for Target Store Grants are available either at your local Target store or online. The grants, of up to $3,000, focus on arts, family violence prevention and reading. Reading grants are awarded to schools, libraries and nonprofit organizations, supporting programs such as weekend book clubs, after-school reading programs and events encouraging family reading time.

Nominate Your Library

As part of its latest editorial initiative, Woman's Day magazine is collecting stories about how the library has helped readers start their business. Readers can submit their stories until May 10. Librarians can promote the initiative in their library by downloading free promotional tools from the @ your library® website. Sample tools include a press release, newsletter copy, and Web button.

AskAway Awareness Week

AskAway Awareness Week is set for May 7-11, 2007. The AskAway publicity committee is calling on libraries to help spread the word about the AskAway online virtual reference service. Libraries will receive bookmarks, fliers, and celebration ideas to be used throughout the week to let patrons know about this great service to which they all have access. Collection Development Webinar
