OCLC Symposium @ ALA

Each year at the American Library Association Conference OCLC sponsors a half day symposium on a topic of critical interest to our profession. This year the issues were information property law, copyright digital communications, intellectual property and user privacy rights. It was a thought provoking afternoon as usual. If you are looking for the lastest information on the electronic privacy. Take a look at the Electronic Privacy Information Center Web Site.

The best quote of the afternoon was from Siva Vaidhyanathan who said "We should know more about our government than our government knows about us." Pretty powerful.

For Public Libraries and Their Trustees
