GSLIS Publications Office Holding Giveaway

The GSLIS Publications Office has partnered with the U of I Library to digitize and make available their titles through IDEALS, the Illinois Digital Environment for Access to Learning and Scholarship. Therefore, they have decided to discontinue selling the majority of their backstock and are offering remaining print copies for free.

Individual librarians, GSLIS students, and others in the library community are encouraged to come to the giveaway that will be held Thursday, October 11, and Friday, October 12, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the East Foyer of the GSLIS building.

Included in the giveaway are multiple copies of titles in the Allerton Park, Occasional Papers, and Data Processing Clinic series and select individual monographs. For a general idea of titles that may be available, visit http://puboff.lis.uiuc.edu/catalog/. There is no guarantee of availability of specific titles.

All titles are offered on a first come, first served basis. If you have any questions, contact Marlo Welshons, Assistant Dean for Publications and Communications, at welshons@uiuc.edu or 217-244-4643.

Creating More Inclusive Libraries

LTLS is proud to announce a new online video series entitled, "Creating More Inclusive Libraries". Within these web pages, you will discover the video version of Susan O'Halloran's "Walking the Talk" program. There are three sessions. Each session has four segments. After each video segment, LTLS has given you downloadable handouts to use in your organization. Some of the handouts are for small group work and some are to help you raise awareness of yourself and your biases.

The videos are in QuickTime.

Funding for this grant was awarded by the Illinois State Library, a Division of the Office of Secretary of State, using funds provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, under the federal Library Services and Technology Act.
