Identify potential water hazards
- Assess vulnerability to people, sites, and collections
- Understand planning for emergency preparedness
- Locate resources to assist with disaster response
Most disasters that strike museums and libraries involve water. 80% of collecting institiutions do not have an emergency plan that includes their collections.
This workshop is designed to help heritage organizations to deal with cultural resources threatened as a result of flooding whether by overflowing rivers, fire-extinguishing efforts, or overly humid environments. The course will be offered throughout the state.

On Tuesday May 5th, at 9:00 a.m. Library Consultant June Garcia will be presenting "Fundraising for Public Libraries". Very few, if any, libraries have sufficient funding to provide all of the services their customers need and want. Now, wiith many coommunities facing stagnant or declining revenues, many library administrators will be expected to raise funds from other sources to maintain existing levels of service or to fund any new initiatives they wish to implement.
