There's NO fluff. It's 180 minutes of nonstop, great information.
We’re less than six months away from the February 2010 election. If you’re considering placing a tax measure on the spring ballot, it’s time to get your game plan in place.
Even if you are considering a November 2010 election, there are many critical public policy tasks that you need to be tackling right now if you plan to realize success at the polls next year.
This past May we had tremendous feedback on our election workshop. Many of the attendees recommended that we come back this fall to put on a similar workshop so that board members, staff and campaign committee volunteers can attend. We’re doing just that. In fact, we have three workshops planned for September. Take your pick.
Three workshop venues to choose from:
Thursday, September 17
9:00 - 11:30 A.M.
South Suburban College
15800 S. State Street
South Holland, IL 60473-1270
Board Room
Thursday, September 17
1:30 - 4:00 P.M.
College of DuPage
425 Fawell Blvd.
Glen Ellyn, IL 60137
Tech Building - Room 1038 B
Friday, September 18
9:00 - 11:30 A.M.
College of Lake County
19351 W. Washington Street
Grayslake, IL 60030
Conference Center - Room C 003
Our workshops are highly interactive and draw from case studies involving school districts, municipalities, counties, special districts and community colleges. We focus on what is takes to pass bond issues and operating measures, even in communities with a fiscally conservative, aging electorate.
There is no fluff. We jump right into public information strategies, timelines, budgets, public opinion polling, issue framing, fund-raising and much more. The workshop will also address the key factors that drive the success or failure of a tax measure on the ballot.
George K. Baum & Company has been involved with more than 550 successful tax measures over the past 15 years. Just last year we were involved with $3.5 billion of successful bond ballot measures. We’re currently working with a number of Illinois clients in preparing for a successful 2010 election.
