Save the date! On Wednesday, April 28, 2010, the CARLI I-Share Users' Group (IUG) and the CARLI Digital Collections Users' Group (DCUG) will host a day-long program on Digital and Electronic Copyright issues at the I Hotel and Conference Center in Champaign. The program will be given by Professor Dwayne K. Buttler of the University of Louisville. Registration will be required, so watch for an announcement in March on how to register for this exciting event!
About Professor Buttler:
Dwayne K. Buttler serves as the first Evelyn J. Schneider Endowed Chair for Scholarly Communication at the University of Louisville and holds a faculty appointment as a Professor in University Libraries. Much of his work focuses on the complex interrelationship of copyright law, and activities at the core of the teaching, learning, and scholarly communication. Professor Buttler earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis and holds a BA in Telecommunications from Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis. He teaches mass communication law at the University of Louisville and leads numerous invited presentations on copyright and scholarly communication for audiences of administrators, faculty, librarians, and scholars in the library and education communities.
