New look, updated content for ACRL Scholarly Communication Toolkit

 The Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) has released an updated version of its popular Scholarly Communication Toolkit in a new format and with updated content. The toolkit continues to provide context and background by summarizing key issues to offer quick, basic information on scholarly communication topics. It also links to examples of specific tools, including handouts, presentations and videos for libraries to adapt and use on their own campuses. The ACRL Scholarly Communication Toolkit is freely available at http://www.acrl.ala.org/scholcomm/.

Abraham Lincoln's Commemorative Bookmarks

Many of you have remarked about how much you like the six bookmarks the Illinois State Library prepared to commemorate Abraham Lincoln's 200th birthday next February. All six bookmarks are now online, and you may print out as many as you like.

Lincoln Bicentennial Flag

February 12, 2009 marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of President Abraham Lincoln. Organizations throughout the country will mark this historic event, and because of Lincoln’s connections to the state of Illinois, our state will be the focus of many bicentennial celebrations. The Illinois State Library and Illinois State Archives are the two divisions within the Secretary of State’s office that have tangible connections to Lincoln.

Supplies to give away

Paris Public Library has the following supplies to give away: 4 boxes of Gaylord pressure sensitive clear polypropylene pockets and 40 pads of Demco #16527600 yellow fine slips. If interested, contact Teresa at 217-463-3950 or parispubliclibrary@gmail.com.  Supplies may be picked up at our library, mailed to your library if you pay postage, or delivered to you if you are attending the per capita workshop on Aug 6.

Give-Away

The Camargo Township District Library has 4 rolls of film for a laminator that they cannot use.  The rolls are 18 inches wide, 200 feet long, 5.0 mil gauge, and the core size is 1inch.

They also have 2 cartridges of HP 23 color ink for inkjet printer, and one HP45 black ink for inkjet printer.
