ALA 2010 Literary Awards for Children & YA

The American Library Association (ALA) has announced the 2010 literary award winners for children and young adults, including the Caldecott and Newbery awards.  The press release is available here. 

StoryTubes

StoryTubes gives kids an opportunity to make a short video about their favorite book and then enter that video into a nationwide contest.  Videos may be up to two minutes long and can be made by individuals or by a group.  Entries are accepted from January 20 through February 28, 2010.  Read more, see examples of past winners and access the online entry form at http://www.storytubes.info
