About 100 community members, leaders, board members and school children braved the wind and cold temperatures on Thursday, February 22nd to commemorate the Newman library's new bookmobile. Representative Tim Johnson complimented the library staff and board for their work in extending library service to the community. Representatives from the Lumpkin Foundation and Edgar County Foundation and other donors were recognized for their financial contributions that made the bookmobile service a reality. The new bookmobile is part of the library's demonstration project and is being used to extend library service to the communities of Redmon, Metcalf, Murdock, Brocton and Hume.
