Mattoon Public Library is focusing on new early literacy materials and programs. With funds from an LSTA grant, lots of new toddler board books and 10 new early literacy kits were purchased. The kits each have books, puppets, audios, DVDs, flannel board pieces, and parent reference materials all centered around a theme. The library will also host a variety of programs and workshops this spring that highlight early literacy learning in the community.
