Marshall Public Library has been providing interesting programs, book discussions, and displays throughout the month of March revolving around this year’s selected BIG READ book, The Best of Poe by Edgar Allan Poe. Come to the library on Thursday, March 31st to see an impressive portrayal of Poe by professional storyteller and author Brian “Fox” Ellis called, “The Ghost of Edgar Allan Poe”. Spend a spine-tingling evening in the parlor of Edgar Allan Poe as he recounts the tormented true tales of his life and how they led to his classic tales of terror. Hear him recite “The Raven” and “The Tell-Tale Heart” as well as some of his lesser known work. This event begins at 6:30 PM and registration is encouraged.
The BIG READ is an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with the Institute of Museum and Library Services and Arts Midwest. Vigo County Public Library has received a grant through this initiative and has invited our library to join them in providing book discussions and programs revolving around this year’s classic works by Edgar Allen Poe.
