On Thursday, June 23, the Danville Public Library Book Club will discuss John Updike's novel, "The Witches of Eastwick", beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the second floor Conference Room. Copies of the book may be borrowed through the library’s interlibrary loan service for free. New readers are always welcome.
The library will show the film version of the book, also titled “The Witches of Eastwick”, on its big screen on Monday, July 11, beginning at 6:30 p.m., as part of the library’s film and discussion series titled “The New Classics: Great Books to Great films from the Past 50 Years.” The film stars Jack Nicholson, Cher, Susan Sarandon, and Michelle Pfeiffer. A brief discussion comparing the book to the film will follow the screening. The film series is made possible by a grant from the Danville Library Foundation.
