Free VHS Cases

Westville Public Library District has a large quantity of plastic VHS cases available Free for anyone interested.  Most have the cut out for the bar code.  Pick them up any time during regular Library hours. For more information, call Rick Balsamello at 217-267-3170.

Urbana Free Library Giveaway

Urbana Free Library is retiring its collection of adult books-on-tape and all adult and children's VHS tapes including entertainment, educational, and parenting.  From Friday, March 25, through Sunday, April 3, LTLS librarians may come select titles to add to their library collections free of charge.  After that date, titles will be available at an Urbana Free Library public sale.

Note that these collections are not available for hold requests.   Come in and pull the cards for the desired videos or books-on-tape.  Bring the cards to the circulation desk on the first floor and tell the circulation clerk the library that is to receive the titles.  Urbana staff will later pull the books-on-tape or videos plus their original boxes and will notify the library when the materials are available for pick up.

Urbana will leave the bib records in the LINC database for a month so that LINC libraries can easily find the correct records to attach their items.

Free Magazine Holders

The Danville Public Library has over 300 plastic magazine holders in good condition to give away to any library or libraries that may need them.  Each measures 4” W x 11.5” H x 9” D.  The holders would be suitable for storing other items that will fit within the dimensions.  If you’re interested, please call or email Mike Boedicker, at 217-477-5223, ext. 123, or.  Deadline for response is 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23.  The requesting library will be responsible for picking up the holders from Danville Public Library.

Free Magazines at St. Joseph Township-Swearingen Memorial Library

The St. Joseph Township-Swearingen Memorial Library is giving away old magazines.  We're cleaning off our shelves making way for the new year.  Come by and pick up copies of older magazines we no longer need.  Take a few...or take a lot.  Great for craft projects or classroom projects.  Give away will last until the magazines are gone or picked through.  Library hours are Mondays & Wednesdays 3-8; Tuesdays & Thursdays 9-6; Fridays 1-7; Saturdays 9-3; closed Sundays.
