Mortenson Center Librarians Visit LTLS

 

Librarians from the Mortenson Center for International Library Programs at the University of Illinois visited Lincoln Trail Libraries System on September 25th for a program on Library Cooperation, presented by Joe Sciacca, and a program on OCLC Services, presented by Jan Ison.  The Mortenson Center Associates in the current group are from Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Ghana, Japan, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, South Korea, Tanzania, Uganda, Uzbekistan and Viet Nam.

LTLS Budget & Finance Committee

The Lincoln Trail Libraries System Budget and Fianance Committee will meet Wednesday, September 19th at 6:30 to discuss the FY 2007 audit and a revision to the FY 2008 Budget.

LTLS Postpones Board Meeting Until September 24

The LTLS Board of Directors Meeting has been postponed from September 17, 2007 until September 24, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at System headquarters. Members of the LTLS Board and LTLS staff will attend a hearing to be held in Urbana at 6:00 p.m. on September 17 regarding library related reductions that the Governor made in the FY 2008 budget.

Agency Codes Causing Delivery Problems

Reminder to all member libraries: Please use lower case d's and capital L's in the agency codes written on delivery bands. Capital D's are often mistaken for O's, lower case l's are mistaken for i's, resulting in materials being delivered to the wrong agency. See the following examples:

CdN-Champaign Douglas branch requests are going to CON, Willow Branch Library, Cisco.
MLN-Marshall Public library requests are going to MIN-Milford Public Library.
Mdn-Mansfield Public Library requests are going to MON-Monticello / Allerton Library.
ZLN-Lakeland College requests are going to the ZIN-University of Illinois Main Library.
